End of January Orphanage updates

“The joy of the Lord is your strength.” – Nehemiah 8:10

If we don’t say it enough, we’ll say it again: we love our children! They are the heart behind our mission and the apple of God’s eye.

We work day and night to put smiles on the faces of the orphans we care for—making sure they receive the love, care, and education they deserve.

Let’s dive in and look at how our kids are doing and how your donations are impacting their lives!

Ability Beyond Disability!

A special birthday is celebrated at Mercy Orphanage Teluk Dalam, Nias (Sumatra). Meet one of our children, Alberian Luaha. Albi, as we call him, was born with learning disabilities, leaving him unable to speak.

Life hasn’t been easy for Alberian, but at Mercy, he receives the love and attention he needs to live a happy, healthy life.

This year, he got some nice new clothes as a birthday present.

You could see from his face the immense joy he could not express with words. Such a simple gift, many of us may take for granted, can bring so much warmth to other’s lives.

We hope and pray that our Albi can grow big and strong, surrounded by people who care for him. And our partners like you make it all possible for children like Albi to have abilities beyond their disabilities!

Checking in on Our Kids!

Let’s take a look at the activities our children are enjoying in some of our key locations!

Here in Soe at Mercy, Anugerah Balu, the kids are currently learning about cell phones. With the increasing prevalence of cell phones in our lives and their growing availability even in remote regions, it’s essential that the youngest generation learns about them early!

After morning prayer and a devotional, the children learn the negative and positive impacts of cell phones and how to use them creatively to their advantage.

Meanwhile…

Mercy Home Sorong was visited by the Chair of the Papua’s Youth Foundation. During his visit, he blessed the children and staff with food packages and donated money to the orphanage’s children.

We are so grateful for the generous donation and the positive relationship with leaders from the regions where we are established.
