Poguwatu Village is in West Cendana Village, Mamboro District, Central Sumba Regency, NTT Province. Going to Poguwatu Village takes about an hour from Waibakul City, the capital city of Central Sumba, via an unpaved road. Poguwatu village is another 3 KM walk after that drive.

The village is very remote and does not have easy access to clean water supplies. Many of the residents also suffer from leprosy. In total, about 60 families live in the village.

Most residents either have their children fetch water (which impacts their ability to go to school) or buy water from their limited income as farmers and stonecutters. This condition is undoubtedly challenging because the money can be used to eat or treat leprosy instead of buying water. Poguwatu residents report that to get clean water during the rainy season, residents have to walk 5 km to get to a water source, and during the dry season, people have to walk 20 km to get clean water.

Praise God, now we have built two clean water tanks for the people in Poguwatu village. The two water tanks helped them immensely. It is even helpful for other villages whose residents can collect water from the
reservoir we have built.
